The Ottawa County Community Foundation awards grants to local nonprofit organizations each year to meet the needs of the community. Funding for these grants comes from the earnings from several unrestricted funds including the Armburster Fund, Akins Fund, OCCF Fund, Peterson-Blackburn Fund, Rhiel Fund, Rofkar Fund, Stensen Memorial Fund, Schiller Dyslexia Fund, Thierwechter Fund and Johnson Fund. Nonprofit organizations in Ottawa County or serving Ottawa County are invited to submit grant request applications to address current and emerging needs in the fields of education, social services, physical and mental health, safe and positive living environments, natural resources and the arts. The Foundation serves to provide for the enrichment of the quality of life in the Ottawa County community.
